FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers

You don’t necessarily need to drain your swimming pool every year in Arizona. As long as you keep your weekly maintenance schedule, you may drain your pool every three to five years. If you don’t encounter major issues, such as having a green pool, leaks, or requiring major pool surface repairs, you don’t need to drain your pool. If you require surface blasting or acid wash, pool draining is required.

Ideally, you should clean the skimmer and pump buckets weekly. However, you need to ensure that leaves, dirt, and other debris are clear from the pump basket. Neglecting this might compromise the performance of your swimming pool pump. Flamingo Pools include cleaning the skimmer and pump baskets in our weekly maintenance schedule.

Yes. Ideally, you need to backwash your swimming pool filter once every 4 to 6 weeks. We include checking the filters in our weekly maintenance schedule. There may be instances when backwashing is required more frequently, mainly when the pool is utilized more significantly in the summer.

Yes. It helps keep your saltwater pool free from bacteria. Occasionally, you will need chlorine to shock-treat the swimming pool like typical swimming pools. However, if you have a salt cell installed, you can control the chlorine levels at a more precise level.

Once a pool is cloudy, there are more serious underlying causes that cause the cloudiness, such as algae infestation and unbalanced chlorine levels. Initially, you may need to consider doing the following actions:

  • Balance the Chlorine levels
  • Eliminate Ammonia
  • Monitor and balance the TA and pH levels
  • Balance the calcium hardness levels
  • Eliminate Algae
  • Remove foreign particles such as scrub and mineral deposits by vacuuming up the swimming pool.

However, these are quite challenging tasks to do yourself. It is best to call professionals such as Flamingo Pools to do this job for you with no mistakes.
